I just got this out of the box, and it works great with my HP Pavilion Entertainment PC! The transformer is warm already, though, after around five minutes, but really I have no problem with that. It keeps your toes warm in the winter :D For those trying to figure out how short is "too short" from the other reveiws, this cord is, from computer to outlet, between 8.5 and 9 feet long. Long enough for me, but then everyone's different. All things considered I'd give it a 4-star, because I've not had it for long and I'm a little apprehensive about the reveiws that say their's died after a few months. The cord looks slightly cheap, but hey, I paid less than two bucks for it. Let's hope it lasts. The Adapter worked just as stated, but I cannot give a 5 star as to be a true replacement, it should have at least the length of the orginal cord, of which it's about 1/3 of the length of the one supplied by HP. Luckily, I can get a little bit extra using the old Edison part of the adapter. It's about 4-5 feet in length total, so just enough to connect with a edison connection on your desk. Then again, for 10 bucks (with shipping) still a good deal.I was apprehensive about purchasing this AC adapter, especially at such a low price. But when I found out how much it was going to cost elsewhere, I decided to give it a try. The adapter I purchased on Amazon was less than $8.00 including shipping. I am glad I took the chance. The power supply I received has a thicker cord and seems to be better quality than the one that came with the Hp computer. It does get a bit warm, but no more than the origninal. Hopefully, this one will not break, but if it does, I will definitely come back here for a replacement. For anyone considering this purchase, all I can say is "Go for it!"I don't know if this is the seller's fault or what, but this item was listed as a PRIME item. I ordered it yesterday (Oct. 11) well ahead of the shipping deadline, yet today it says the item hasn't even been shipped, and it told me the delivery date would be Oct. 18. WTF? This is the first time this has ever happened to me, and I've been a PRIME member since Amazon began offering the service. In other cases, it might be tolerable, but I'm sitting here with a dead laptop because of a broken charger.By the way, the item below was advertised as compatible with the TX1000 laptop by HP. But it is NOT. I ordered the incompatible item, received it, found it doesn't work, then ordered the item in this review and now ran into these new problems. This really impacts those who work at home. If you're wondering, a friend lets me borrow his computer from time to time to check email and such. Caveat emptor!I bought this replacement charger a week ago and it works quite well for my HP laptop DV2500. The cord is smaller than the one in the original charger and the end that gets into the laptop does not fit perfectly, but isn't loose either, so does its job well. This cord charged my computer just fine, but for some reason whenever it was plugged in it made my mouse arrow jump all over over screen. I don't really have a way to describe it other than it made my arrow go nuts. (This was to charge my HP Laptop, so I use the fingerpad on it.) If I tried to point to anything (link, file, button, etc.), I'd get there and then my arrow would suddenly be 4 inches away. When I unplugged the cord and ran on battery power everything went back to normal. At the end of the day, I didn't want to only ever run my laptop off battery power, so I returned the cord.I'm gonna make this short, but, this is a great charger so far and I like it. The only thing I don't like is that there is no light indicator (which I like on the chargers). But, that doesn't mean you shouldn't' buy it.After checking other online vendors and local stores for a replacement AC adapter and finding a price range of $130-$160 I was suspicious of this product at just over $2.00. when I recieved the adapter I was pleaently surprised (actually 'shocked' would be more accrurate) the quality was beyond compare. I would HIGHLY recommend this product anyone in need of a new power adapter. I'll never shop anywhere else.
