Having shifted to a remote work position, I needed reliable internet. I had fiber installed in addition to cable. I needed a router that would handle both in a failover situation. The first dual WAN router I got had gigabit WAN ports but the throughput was capped at 200Mbps! I exchanged that for this model which handles around 800, I believe.I disabled the wireless features because I didn't need them and reviews here said it was less than stellar. The issue I had with the Dual WAN setup was that no matter how I configured it, all of the traffic went through the slower cable connection unless I physically disconnected that port. Long story short, I noticed that the cable modem was providing IPv6 while the new Fiber ONT did not. That seems to be why the router was always favoring the cable connection. I disabled IPv6 across the board and the WAN failover worked like I wanted- Fiber first and Cable only if there's an issue. Hopefully this info will help someone out there.I had a secondary ISP account using 5G, so I bought this router; however, the secondary ISP didn’t give me the performance I needed, so I dropped them. Now I only use this router with both WAN ports connected to the same gateway with a 50/50 LB setting and get great throughput. Overall, I’m very pleased with this device. It works well, setup was easy and the UI is easy to navigate. My only complaint is that the antennas are a bit flimsy at the connection points where they have to bend.I liked that this device has a lot of options for the price and you can configure many things if you know what you are doing. I disliked that it does not produce such a strong signal. My previous router that cost $60 and is 4 years old was producing a stronger signal. In the higher frequencies 5Ghz, the power level is set to 18dBm, even if the legal limit is 23. It foes not even allow you to set the signal to strong, medium or weak like my old router.Nice easy to setup dual WAN solution. I’m still testing and trying to get the most out of using two LTE lines, not 100% sure it’s giving me the combination of two lines, seems more like the it’s routing to the better line. The initial setup was simple plug and play. Wi-Fi was a breeze to setup and all my devices are connecting fine (new and old) I will update this review once I have had more experience with this router.BackgroundI bought this router to make my home network more reliable. Working from home and having school children attending school from home requires a reliable internet connection. Over the past year and a half, my primary ISP has become less and less reliable—with up to 4 outages per day. I decided to get a second ISP and use this router to manage my home network giving me the option to set up my second ISP as a failover.SetupSetup was moderately difficult. If you have a basic idea of how to set up a router, this should t be a problem, but if you have never logged into a router, this isn’t the option for you—it is not a plug-and-play type setup.WiFiThis offers a seemingly standard WiFi with three separate frequency ranged that can be individually configured. Each has an option for a guest network and the ability to set up multiple isolated networks.LANThis offered 8 LAN ports so there is little need to add switches for a home network if you like things wired.OptionsMore options than the average home network needs. These options allows you to fully customize your network for more advanced needs.Main problemThe router has a tendency to reboot whenever a new device connects. I experience this problem whenever a new device connects to the network whether through WiFi or wired LAN but not all the time. This creates an unreliability issue at least as bad as the original unreliability issue. I have tried several tweets to resolve this problem but it still happens at least once a day. The only option I have is to manually connect to the appropriate ISP either by changing WiFi or patch cable connections. This issue makes the router boarder line useless. After spending hours trying to get the router to work with Trendnet customer service, the product was found to be defective. A prompt refund was made. I give 3 stars due to the quality of the support, not the quality of the product.Client service team is excellent, but product sucks. I had to return it, it never worked for me, and it is very complicated to install..Es una buena marca y de buena calidad. NO het enido problemas y es facil de operarBroke after 6 months, can't get a refund or return and there's no help. I don't even feel like buying a new one from Amazon because of how screwed over I feel.Broke after 3 months for no reason. Completely untouched, room temperature, well protected.
