I have an older laptop that only has a 2.4GHz wifi card installed and was slow when browsing the web. Rather than take it apart to replace the card, I thought I'd try this wifi dongle. Just plug it in to USB port and it worked straight away. It does come with a mini CD-ROM with the driver software on but I didn't need to install it as it worked automatically. Now my laptop is much faster and I didn't need to take it apart. Would definately recommend as long as you have enough spare USB ports to sacrifice.
