The positives are that the audio quality is surprisingly good and when the microphone is switched on it connects immediately and consistently to the receiver. This is important if, during the event, the emcee will be switching the mic on and off a lot. I've yet to hear any interference, even with lots of other wireless devices in the area so this too is really good. The negatives are all about the build quality...I don't know where the rechargeable battery is supposed to be because with mine the microphone takes alkaline batteries and when the receiver is unplugged from a 5V adapter it stops working (maybe something is wrong with mine). The microphone is almost all plastic that has been painted with metallic paint (except for the windscreen, which is metal). The display is a printed graphic with an LED behind it, made to look like an LCD display (you can still see the printing in the "screen" area when the microphone is switched off.)
