The steel grill range seems to be line of sight and not very far. I had it in my Green Mountain Pellet grill I believe the steel shell is lessening the signal strength. If I go in the house it will disconnect from Bluetooth and alarm. If I can’t go in the house that’s 20 feet away literally 10 feet too the door and 10 feet to the kitchen then not worth buying at any price. Now using with the Ceramic Kamado at the same distance into the home I have full bars on the app. The ambient temperature portion seems ok near what the Kamado gauge is. And the meat sensor is very near to my instant read good bbq thermometer.I gave it 4 stars because the app is very basic no tracking of cooking temperature at all. Just current temperature.UPDATE TEMPERATURE OF FOOD WAS WAY OFF. ENEDED UP RETURING IT PURCHASED A WIRED THERMOPRO THATS GREAT.
