The Good: Love that it is made out of read wood not pressed stuff, The color was consistent and the unit seemed sturdy once we had it all put together. It wasn't very hard to put together, instruction and know how made for that ease. Stairs are a great alternative to a ladder. Love the little supports for the bottom bunk for heavier guest. The undecided: Stairs are a little narrow, but okay. It's dark on the bottom bunk do to the size. Not sure about the weight on the top bunk with just those few slats, we may add more.THE BAD: WOW!!! Was the packaging ever terrible on this product. It was placed on a palette that was WAY too small for the unit, causing a lot of fatigue on the largest box and it was actually bend downwards and had caused damage to the unit itself because the box was torn from rubbing over the edge of the palette. 2 other boxes were damaged because of lack of support, luckily the items were not damaged. And we made the delivery guy open each and every box that we received to ensure nothing was broken. There was some rubbing discoloration on the bottom of one leg. A couple knicks in the wood.AND very little packing material to protect the unit a couple pieces of styrofoam on the ends and a thin sheet of foam stuff to protect the unit.WATCH OUT: When installing the short top railing, ours was misaligned and the dowels were too long and when we put the screws in to attach the end caps it cracked it all the way through. :(A nice piece of furniture. I love the color and that it is made out of real wood. A little on the pricey side but I am done with noisy metal beds. Two of the holes for the guardrails were stripped out but overall it went together nicely. It was missing a piece but I emailed the manufacturer and they sent it to me in two days. It came in 6 boxes and finding out where to start was a little mind boggling. My main reason for ordering this is because it was the only staircase bunk bed I could find that was not too long for the smaller room that it was going in. I'm 5'4" at 180 lbs and I can still fit up the stairs and they support my weight with no problem. The room smelled like a wood mill for like a month but I kind of like that smell lol. I feel like it will last for many years.Where to start..the bed is beautiful! I think I was just as excited as the kids to recieve. It came in 7 boxes and took 2 guys who knew what they were doing 2 1/2 hours to put together. The packaging looked horrendous (dented ends, torn cardboard) luckily the pieces fared pretty well. There were @ few damaged pieces and scuffs but nothing to compromise the stability. It seems like a very nice bed so far.The bad:I had ordered a twin over full being those were the mattresses I have. They sent a full over full which i could work with if it didn't mean going out to buy a new mattress. Im going to attempt dealing with customer service and see what can be done about it and i will update with my conclusion.Love this bunkbed for my grandkids. It is real wood. Took 3 hours to assemble. Would have gone quicker if pieces of wood had been marked. Had no idea which pieces were to be used. Not good instructions. My girls love the bed. It is very attractive and so far sturdy. All parts arrived in good shape and it came with a few extra metal parts. Feels sturdy when I lie in the bed to read to my daughter. Lots of slats for the mattresses. Works great with a memory foam mattress. It took my husband the better part of a day to put it together. His complaint was that he wished the box containing the directions was marked and he would have opened that one first. The stairs are attractive and seem more safe and the shelf beneath adds a lot of extra storage area.Well made but had several pieces with damaged finish. Didn't realize till we were near the end of assembly and given the assembly time and weight of the boxes I decided I will try and d the touch ups.Lumber seems to be of good quality and bed seems sturdyWe've had this bunk bed in our 7 year old daughter's room for about 7 months now. Overall we all really love it. It both looks nice, is very functional, and is also sturdy. The only downside is that it takes quite a bit of time to put together. The bed is a great size, considering that my son and daughter will use these beds until they go to college. The bunk beds can be separated into single (full sized) beds, so they won't ever have to share a room either. The time it takes to put the bed together is a bit much, but maybe you'll have help, which I didn't. Overall, a great buy, especially if you get it when it's on sale!
