I received the Yantouch EyE1 speaker from vendor as a 'for review' item and I have mixed feelings about actually recommending it as a purchase and I will explain why.First, for the good things, the EyE1 pairs easily over Bluetooth with just about anything and, once paired, you it can be a nice wireless speaker with benefits. The benefits being the ability to control some of its behaviors through a physical remote control. The remote will allow you to adjust volume or mute it, change the light display from color cycling to some specific color or to a pulsating mode that follows the music, make it into a 'light' to illuminate surroundings or set it to a nightlight mode.The speaker's stand doubles as a power switch, turning the speaker off when it's folded.Installing the HueDJ app adds more capabilities such as setting a wake up alarm and better control over the light display. I appreciate the fact that the app is not asking for excessive 'rights' over your phone.The HueDJ should also allow you to use two of these speakers as a stereo pair but I was unable to test this feature.It all comes packaged in a nice box that has, besides the speaker itself, a USB charging cable, the small remote and pretty nice black velvety carry pouch.This is all good but not everything is good. First and foremost, it's the actual speaker. I understand that making a small speaker actually sound excellent is not an easy task which explains why the high end small speakers tend to be so expensive. The EyE1, sadly, only sounds 'good' but it's far from 'excellent'. To make it short, I am not convinced. Even with the 'Alpine Hort Bass resonant tube' (an orifice on the back), the bass is unconvincing and there is audible distortion all throughout the spectrum. Coming off one speaker, the sound is distinctly 'mono' and, due to distortions it is at times painful to listen to.The HueDJ app, is not the easiest to use. I don't doubt that it can be 'learned' eventually but, as far as I can tell, once you close it you will have to rediscover the speaker nearby and that's after it's re-paired through Android's own system facility. It could be better. Also there seems to be a learning curve on figuring out how to control the light show.Now, for the overall impression, the Eye1 design of a speaker surrounded by lights is a nice design and you can do some interesting things with it but, to me at least, it mostly comes down to the speaker's ability to output good sound and that's where the EyE1 comes short. The so-called lifestyle features are nice but I can easily set my phone to wake me up in the morning and we already have nightlights so what I care most about in a speaker is how it performs as a speaker. Hopefully, new and improved models will come with better hardware and a more capable and more fun to use app.This is a very unique Bluetooth speaker/combination smart light. First, the sound is excellent. You would think such a weird shape would not make a good speaker, but the sound is loud and distortion-free. It lacks the really thumping bass, but I don't think that is its purpose - since it has a smart light/wake-up light feature, this is meant to be on your night stand as your news reader, YouTube player, etc. Speaking of the lights, they are pretty cool. First, you can manually change it to any color with your smartphone. Second, it can automatically turn on as a natural light waker-upper to wake you up more naturally. The price is a bit steep, but the sound is excellent, and the sound is superb. This is a quality product.Before I have bought this pair of Yantouch EyE Portable 3-in-1 Wireless Bluetooth Speaker, I already have a Bose Solo 10 II TV Sound System.I compared the sound quality between the Yantouch EyE speaker and the Bose Solo speaker that definitely Yantouch sounds better and richer than that of my Bose speaker. I can use my cell phone or a Samsung Note 8 tablet connected to EyE Bluetooth Speakers easily. I played my favorite songs using this EyE speaker that was great and I loved this Yantouch EyE speaker. I recommended this speaker to my colleague who loves this EyE speaker too. I tried classical music that also sounded great using the Yantouch EyE speaker.I connected this EyE speaker(actuall two speakers, left and right) using an analog cable to my TV audio outputand I moved one speaker to my dinning table so I can hear the TV sound very clearly when I was having my dinnerand watching TV that is far from my dinning table so I don't have to increase my TV volume.There are many features of this EyE speaker you can try but I only care about its good quality of sound.This is a very good product and I recommend it to everybody.The perfect combo of LED's and speakers!PROS:- Easy to pair- Can play stereo sound if you have 2 speakers- LEDS are very bright- Companion app for iOS and Android offers a TON of features- Compact design with an included carrying case- Great battery lifeCONS- I wouldn't consider this a con, but more so something I had to get used to. The on off switch is controlled via the built in stand, so when you pull the stand out the speaker turns on and when you push the stand in the speaker turns off. A unique approach, not a deal breaker though.Overall, I really like the speakers. The sound quality was great! Added a nice light show while I listened to music, watched a movie, or played a game. A nice touch for parties or gatherings to add to the mood! The white eye gives you a brighter light while the black model gives you more color saturation.
