Product Description

The HyperX Pulsefire Haste 2 Wireless is built for gamers who can’t afford to waste a millisecond and want the freedom of wireless connectivity. This sequel had a solid upper shell and keeps the 61g3 weight and 100-hour2 battery life of the original Pulsefire Haste, but builds upon it with several refinements. Pulsefire Haste 2 Wireless has dual mode wireless connectivity, allowing you to switch between 2.4GHz wireless and Bluetooth connections, and a charging cable so you can charge while using the mouse in wired mode. We’ve also built out a full suite of high-performance HyperX custom components, highlighted by the precision HyperX 26K Sensor with a native DPI of up to 26,000 and a tracking speed of up to 650 IPS. Our custom HyperX Switches provide tactile, audible feedback on each satisfying click, and are rated for a lifespan of up to 100 million clicks. You’ll also enjoy superior physical control of your mouse with virgin PTFE skates, and the included grip tape. Get the most out of every mouse movement with HyperX NGENUITY Software and create macros for the 6 programmable buttons, customize your DPI settings, and personalize the RGB lighting.

Backstory: I've been looking for a different mouse for a while now. I've used a Glorious Model O for a long time, and I like the shape and size, but it's abundantly clear that Glorious hasn't understood what nearly anyone wants from them for years now, and I don't trust them to figure it out, so I was looking for an alternative. I had gotten many recommendations for this, so I wanted to review this mouse from the perspective of a former Model O user. The Pulsefire Haste 2 is noticeably shorter in both height an length, but I really like the shape. The slope of the mouse peaks in the middle of the mouse instead of in the back half, which is something that's really bothered me when tried other mice. If you're worried about the size, I found that cutting and applying after-market grip tape helped with grip and made the main mouse buttons slightly larger, which made it comfortable enough for me to use without any issues. That being said, the included grip tape isn't not great. It provides very little friction in the best case, but if you struggle with sweaty hands, it performs even worse in that case. Frankly, it grips even worse than no grip tape at all if your hands get sweaty, so if you have any issues with that at all, you might consider getting grip tape from somewhere else. The Pulsefire Haste 2 grip tape comes pre-cut, so if you wanted to, you could use it as an easy template to cut your own pieces, but the included pieces don't cover the entire parts that they're cut for, they're a bit smaller so they leave a gap on the edge, which might not bother you, but I wanted to point it out. Additionally, I like to put grip tape on the back half of the mouse where your palm rests, and there's no included tape for that. I personally will just use masking tape to create my own panels for all of the parts of the mouse, although if you do that yourself, I'd recommend cutting the back half template into 4 pieces, it makes it a lot easier to get things sitting right over the curve. The software is fine, it wasn't janky or slow or confusing to navigate. I was however a bit sad that I couldn't change the polling rate or debounce time, but those only create issues in pretty specific scenarios. That being said, I have to admit that the main reason I bring these things up is because I play a lot of Minecraft. The lack of a debounce time setting is great for Minecrafters who want to click fast, but maybe not so great for someone who plays most other games. The lack of a polling rate setting is fine for most people, but Minecraft has a bizarre issue on some versions where the game freaks out if you use a mouse with a polling rate higher than 500hz. The double clicking isn't an impossible issue to overcome, as with proper technique, you can eliminate practically any accidental double clicks, but it's just a situation where you'll want to decide what matters to you. For me, the tradeoffs are worth it for me, but I'd still recommend to always look around at your options and figure out what matters to you.(Also thank you for ditching the holes in the shell. I hate cleaning them lol)
