My 18kW Generac that's about 20 years old suddenly started killing batteries. It's worse than passing an act of Congress to get a repairman out (and I live in the Seattle area, so not remote or anything...) so after doing some internet research I stumbled across this part and decided I would replace it myself. While I wasn't certain it was my issue, it sure seemed likely. I installed it a couple of weeks ago, and the generator has been working great ever since. Weekly cycle going off, and last night we actually lost power and it fired right up--power was only out for a few hours. Today, I manually started it and the battery sounds good/strong, so I believe my issue has been resolved!
