Wireless Doorbell Extender with Receiver This doorbell extender can be connected to your existing conventional hardwired doorbell system (the radio transmitter connects to your doorbell system with no difference between the two wires between the + and - electrodes and works in the 3-24V range, a transformer is required for use outside this voltage range) and the included receiver can be placed anywhere, so the doorbell rings can be heard anywhere in your home. The issue could be with the Extender，chime, doorbell button, transformer and/or wiring. Try the following! 1. Remove the doorbell buton and briefly touch the wires, lf the doorbellrinas, then the buton needs to be replaced/looked at. The buttoncould be stuck or there is a short in the wiring. fthe push button(s) are removed and the buzzing continues, the wiring wilikely need to bereplaced. lt is also possible that the wrong wires are connected to the chime. 2. Test the transformer (16V transformer is needed) with a voltage meter, lfthe transformer is producing less than 16 volts when the chime isolaying or less than 18 volts when the chime is NOT playing, then the transformer needs to be replaced.Also,ifyou are using a smart doorbelike Ring Pro, then a stronger transformer such as 16V/30VA is needed compared to a standard 16V/10vA transformer (please note thatcustomers have mentioned that our wired door chimes work with their video doorbel, but individual experiences may vary.). 3. Use a voltage fuse to test the doorbell; if there is current when the doorbell button is pressed and the transmitter lights up red, but the doorbell does not ring, the doorbell needs to be replaced. 4. Install the expander on the chime, if the expander does not light up, you need to determine if the chime is energized, if it is normally energized, then you need to replace the expander.
