I got these on a whim because I could not resist the novelty of them. I did not actually expect them to be very useful or sound that great, but I was pleasantly surprised to find that I was mostly wrong about that.First off, as far as sound quality goes, these are about what you would expect for $20; not fantastic, but definitely not terrible, and better than most earbuds I’ve owned and tested in this price range. I would give the audio quality a 6 out of 10, and that applies to both the speaker and the headphones (8 out of 10 if you consider the price). These would not be my go-to choice for long listening sessions, but due to their versatility I would say the sound quality is more than good enough for casual listening while doing other things, and the earbuds are actually quite comfortable and fit me nicely.That brings me to their usefulness, and why I am giving them 5 stars. This is not an amazing speaker, and it’s also not amazing earbuds, but the fact that it does BOTH well enough, and in such a small package, is amazing. For example, the other day I was doing some work outside and decided to throw the earbuds on, then I took a break with my family and switched it to the speaker so that we could all listen. That versatility is very awesome to have in one small package that easily fits in a backpack or large pocket. For that reason alone I actually find myself using these a lot, and I think that for $20 to get both decent speaker and decent earbuds combo’d together makes them more than worth it. I also think these would be an especially great choice for a child/teen.
